How to Create a Shopify-Native Product Bundle with uShopAid
This Product Bundle template combines multiple existing products into a new Shopify-native bundle product.
You can define which products and quantities are included in the bundle. Shoppers can then choose from the available variants of each bundled product, such as weight, size, or color.
In this tutorial, we will create a fixed bundle containing:
- 2 × Sample Coffee #3
- 1 × Sample Nuts #12
- 1 × Sample Nuts #2
Both nut products have the following variants:
- 250g
- 500g
- 1000g
Based on these variants, uShopAid will create:
- 2 product options
- 9 Shopify-native bundle variants
[Insert image here: Completed Coffee & Nuts Bundle on the storefront]

How Is This Template Different from Other Product Bundle Templates?
A bundle created with this template becomes a Shopify-native bundle product.
Each combination of bundled product variants generates a corresponding Shopify variant. For example:
- Sample Nuts #12: 250g
- Sample Nuts #2: 500g
When shoppers change a selection on the storefront, they are switching between Shopify product variants. The product page displays the image, price, and inventory status saved for the selected variant.
Therefore, this template does not usually experience the following issue that may occur with other Product Bundle templates:
The shopper changes a bundled product selection, but the main product price does not update.
This is because the template uses Shopify’s native product options and variants. It does not require the theme to recalculate the main product price based on a custom uShopAid dropdown selection.
Although Shopify displays the selected native variant’s price on the storefront, automatic updates to the Bundle price and inventory after a bundled product changes still depend on the uShopAid synchronization service.[Insert image here: Shopify-native Bundle options and variants shown in the Preview panel]

When Should You Use This Product Bundle Template?
This template is suitable for bundles with fixed contents and relatively simple product options, such as:
- Coffee and snack sets
- Clothing sets with size selections
- Food bundles with weight selections
- Skincare sets with fixed products
- Gift boxes with fixed contents
You determine in advance which products and quantities are included.
Shoppers can select from the available variants of those products, but they cannot replace a bundled product with a different product.
For example, the Bundle in this tutorial always contains:
- 2 bags of Sample Coffee #3
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #12
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #2
Shoppers can choose the weight of each nut product, but they cannot replace either nut product with another product.
What Are the Limitations of This Template?
Because this template creates a Shopify-native bundle product, it must follow Shopify’s native product structure limits.
A Bundle can contain up to:
- 100 bundled products
- 3 product options
- 2,048 product variants
How Are Product Options Calculated?
Each bundled product selection that shoppers can configure becomes an option on the final Bundle product.
For example:
- Sample Nuts #12: 250g, 500g, and 1000g
- Sample Nuts #2: 250g, 500g, and 1000g
This creates:
- 2 product options
- 3 × 3 = 9 product variants
The option limit is based on the final options created for the Bundle product, not the total number of option values.
Which Combinations May Exceed the Limit?
Consider the following products:
- Beauty Back Yoga Bra: Size and Color
- Cropped Shark Yoga Pants: Size and Color
Because both products have Size and Color options, combining them would require four separate options on the Bundle product. This exceeds Shopify’s maximum of three product options.
If a Bundle contains several products with options such as Size, Color, Weight, or Style, the number of options and variants can increase quickly.
This template is best suited to Bundles where:
- The included products and quantities are fixed
- Only a small number of products require variant selections
- The bundled products have simple option structures
- The final Bundle contains no more than 3 options
- The final Bundle contains no more than 2,048 variants
If your products have complex option structures, or you want shoppers to choose freely from a larger selection of products, consider using another uShopAid Product Bundle template or a Mix Match Bundle.
[Insert image here: Preview panel showing the Bundled products, Options, and Variants counts]

Step 1: Select the Shopify-Native Product Bundle Template
Open uShopAid and create a new Product Bundle.
Select the template that creates a new Shopify-native Bundle product, and then select:
Create new bundle product
uShopAid will create a new Shopify product that shoppers can purchase as a Bundle.
[Insert image here: Product Bundle template selection page with the Shopify-native template highlighted]

[Insert image here: “Create new bundle product” option]

Step 2: Enter the Bundle Product Information
On the New Bundle Product page, enter a title for the Bundle product.
For example:
Coffee & Nuts Bundle
You can also set the product status.
While creating and testing the Bundle, we recommend saving the product as a draft. After confirming that everything works correctly, publish it to the appropriate sales channels.
The title should describe the complete set so shoppers can immediately understand that it is a bundled product.
[Insert image here: New Bundle Product page showing the product title and status settings]

Step 3: Select the Products Included in the Bundle
Click:
Select products
Search for and select the products you want to include, and then click Confirm.
For this example, select:
- Sample Coffee #3
- Sample Nuts #12
- Sample Nuts #2
After adding the products, uShopAid reads their available variants and options and uses them to generate the options and variants for the Shopify Bundle product.
[Insert image here: The selected products displayed in the Bundle editor]

Step 4: Check the Number of Products, Options, and Variants
After adding the products, check the following information in the Preview panel:
- Bundled products: The number of products included in the Bundle
- Options: The number of options that will be created for the final Bundle product
- Variants: The number of Bundle variants generated from all option combinations
In this example:
- 3 products are included
- 2 product options are created
- 9 product variants are generated
[Insert image here: Preview panel showing 3 bundled products, 2 options, and 9 variants]

If the product combination exceeds Shopify’s option limit, the following message appears:
You have too many variant options. Shopify supports up to 3 variant options.
When this message appears, the current product combination cannot be created as a Shopify-native Bundle.
You can:
- Reduce the number of bundled products that have options
- Reduce the number of available product variants
- Disable unnecessary quantity options
- Use another Product Bundle template
- Use a Mix Match Bundle
[Insert image here: Error message showing that the Bundle has too many variant options]

Step 5: Set the Quantity of Each Bundled Product
After adding the products, set how many units of each product should be included in one Bundle.
Enter the required quantity under Unit quantity.
For this example, set:
- Sample Coffee #3: 2
- Sample Nuts #12: 1
- Sample Nuts #2: 1
Each Bundle purchased by a shopper will therefore contain:
- 2 bags of coffee
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #12
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #2
These quantities are also used when calculating the Bundle’s price and inventory.
For example:
- Sample Coffee #3 has 100 units available
- Each Bundle requires 2 units of Sample Coffee #3
This product can support a maximum of:
100 ÷ 2 = 50 Bundles
[Insert image here: Unit quantity settings showing quantities of 2, 1, and 1]

Step 6: Select the Product Variants Available in the Bundle
Expand the variant settings for each bundled product and select the variants shoppers can purchase as part of the Bundle.
In this example, both nut products offer:
- 250g
- 500g
- 1000g
Shoppers will be able to select the weight of each nut product independently on the Bundle product page.
If a particular variant should not be available in the Bundle, deselect it. Only selected variants will be used to generate the Bundle product’s options and variant combinations.
Step 7: Add a Product Quantity Option When Needed
If you want shoppers to choose the quantity of a particular bundled product, enable:
Add quantity as an option
The product quantity will then become a selectable option on the Bundle product.
For example, shoppers could choose:
- 1 jar
- 2 jars
- 3 jars
You do not need to enable this setting for a Bundle with fixed products and quantities. Instead, enter the fixed quantity under Unit quantity.
In this tutorial:
- The coffee quantity is fixed at 2
- The quantity of each nut product is fixed at 1
Therefore, no quantity option is required.
[Insert image here: “Add quantity as an option” setting]
[Insert image here: Preview showing how enabling a quantity option affects the Options and Variants counts]

Step 8: Arrange the Bundled Products
Click Sort products to change the order of the products in the Bundle.
This order determines how the products appear in the Bundle Widget.
We recommend arranging products in an order that makes the Bundle easy to understand, such as:
- Main product
- Complementary product
- Additional product
For this example, use the following order:
- Sample Coffee #3
- Sample Nuts #12
- Sample Nuts #2
[Insert image here: Sort products window showing the selected product order]

Step 9: Configure the Bundle Widget
Find the Bundle Widget section below the product list.
Enable:
Display the included products on the bundle product page
When enabled, the Bundle product page shows the products, quantities, and variants included in the shopper’s currently selected combination.
For example:
- 2 × Sample Coffee #3
- 1 × Sample Nuts #12 — 250g
- 1 × Sample Nuts #2 — 500g
When shoppers switch to another Bundle variant, the product variant information in the widget updates accordingly.
If you disable this setting, the Bundle can still be sold normally, but the list of included products will not appear on the product page.
In this case, clearly explain the Bundle contents through the product title, images, and description.

Step 10: Customize the Bundle Widget
Click:
Customize the bundle widget
You can customize settings such as:
- Whether to display the widget title
- Widget title text
- Title color
- Title font size and weight
- Product title color
- Product title font size and weight
- Product image size
- Product image corner radius
- Widget border color
Keep the design simple and make sure the widget’s typography, colors, and overall appearance match your Shopify theme.
[Insert image here: Bundle Widget customization panel]
[Insert image here: Storefront preview of the customized Bundle Widget]

Step 11: Add Bundle Media and a Description
Expand Media & Description to configure the general media and description for the Shopify Bundle product.
Add Bundle Images
Under Bundle media, you can add images in two ways:
- Click Add files to upload an image created specifically for the complete Bundle
- Click Add media from bundled products to select existing media from the products included in the Bundle
For a fixed Bundle, we recommend uploading a single image that clearly shows all included products.
The main image in this example should show:
- 2 bags of Sample Coffee #3
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #12
- 1 jar of Sample Nuts #2
[Insert image here: Bundle media section showing “Add files” and “Add media from bundled products”]

Add a Bundle Description
Under Bundle description, you can:
- Write a description manually
- Click Add description from bundled products to add existing descriptions from the included products and edit them as needed
We recommend including:
- The products included in the Bundle
- The quantity of each product
- The variants shoppers can select
- The Bundle’s main features or use cases
- Any important purchasing information
Step 12: Configure Rules for Each Bundle Variant
Expand Rules to configure the price, compare-at price, and inventory synchronization for each Bundle variant.
Under Set for each variant, select the combination you want to configure, such as:
- 250g / 250g
- 250g / 500g
- 500g / 1000g
- 1000g / 500g
Each combination is a native Shopify variant and can have its own price, compare-at price, and inventory.
If multiple variants should use the same rules, click Bulk edit to configure them together.

Step 13: Set the Bundle Price
Under Price, you can automatically synchronize the price or enter it manually.
Method 1: Automatically Synchronize the Price
Select:
Sync automatically based on the prices of the bundled products
uShopAid calculates and synchronizes the Bundle variant’s price using:
- The bundled products included in that specific variant
- The selected bundled product variants
- The required quantity of each product
For example, the 250g / 250g combination contains:
- 2 × Sample Coffee #3: $40 × 2
- 1 × Sample Nuts #12 — 250g: $42
- 1 × Sample Nuts #2 — 250g: $30
The Bundle price is:
$40 × 2 + $42 + $30 = $152
When automatic price synchronization is selected, you can also choose:
- Percentage off: Apply a percentage discount to the total price of the bundled products
- Amount off: Subtract a fixed amount from the total price of the bundled products
- No discount: Use the total price of the bundled products without a discount
If the price of a bundled product changes, the uShopAid synchronization service recalculates and updates the corresponding Bundle variant price.

Method 2: Set the Price Manually
Select:
Manually set, do not sync automatically
Enter the price for the selected Bundle variant.
A manually configured price does not change automatically when the prices of the bundled products change.
If you later change a bundled product’s price, you will need to review and update the Bundle price manually.
[Insert image here: Price set to “Manually set, do not sync automatically” with a manually entered price]

Step 14: Set the Compare-at Price
Under Compare-at price, you can select:
- Sync based on the prices of the bundled products: Use the total selling price of the bundled products as the compare-at price
- Sync based on the compare-at prices of the bundled products: Calculate the total using the bundled products’ compare-at prices; if a product does not have a compare-at price, its selling price is used
- Manually set, do not sync automatically: Enter a compare-at price that will not be synchronized automatically
For example, for the 250g / 250g combination:
- The bundled products’ total selling price is $152
- The total calculated from their compare-at prices is $192
The storefront can display:
- Bundle price: $152
- Bundle compare-at price: $192
When automatic compare-at price synchronization is selected, the uShopAid synchronization service recalculates and updates the Bundle variant’s compare-at price after the relevant bundled product prices change.
Make sure your use of compare-at prices and promotional pricing complies with the pricing and advertising requirements applicable in the locations where you sell.
Step 15: Configure Bundle Inventory
Under Bundle inventory, select the inventory location and enable:
Sync bundle inventory automatically based on the inventory of bundled products
When enabled, uShopAid calculates and synchronizes the available inventory of the selected Bundle variant based on:
- The available inventory of each bundled product variant
- The quantity required for one Bundle
- The selected inventory location
For example:
- Sample Coffee #3 has 100 units available
- Each Bundle requires 2 units of Sample Coffee #3
This product can support:
100 ÷ 2 = 50 Bundles
If every other bundled product can support more than 50 Bundles, the final Bundle inventory will still be 50.
The Bundle’s available quantity is determined by the bundled product that supports the fewest complete Bundles.
When the available inventory of a bundled product changes, the uShopAid synchronization service recalculates and updates the corresponding Bundle variant inventory.
Step 16: Save and Create the Bundle Product
After configuring the products, quantities, variants, widget, media, description, prices, and inventory, save the Bundle.
uShopAid will create a Shopify-native Bundle product.
Go to:
Shopify admin → Products
Find and open the newly created Bundle product.
Before publishing it, check:
- Bundle product title
- Product status
- Published sales channels
- Product options
- All variant combinations
- Price and compare-at price for each variant
- Inventory for each variant
- Product images
- Product description
After confirming that everything is correct, publish the product to your storefront.
Step 17: Upload an Image for Each Bundle Variant
If you want shoppers to see a matching Bundle image after selecting a different combination, upload a dedicated image for each Bundle variant in Shopify.
Go to:
Shopify admin → Products → Open the Bundle product → Variants
Upload the corresponding image for each Bundle variant.
This example contains nine variants:
- Sample Nuts #12 250g + Sample Nuts #2 250g
- Sample Nuts #12 250g + Sample Nuts #2 500g
- Sample Nuts #12 250g + Sample Nuts #2 1000g
- Sample Nuts #12 500g + Sample Nuts #2 250g
- Sample Nuts #12 500g + Sample Nuts #2 500g
- Sample Nuts #12 500g + Sample Nuts #2 1000g
- Sample Nuts #12 1000g + Sample Nuts #2 250g
- Sample Nuts #12 1000g + Sample Nuts #2 500g
- Sample Nuts #12 1000g + Sample Nuts #2 1000g
Each variant image should accurately show:
- 2 bags of Sample Coffee #3
- The correct size of Sample Nuts #12
- The correct size of Sample Nuts #2
When assigning images, carefully check the order of the two product options to avoid attaching an image to the wrong variant combination.

Step 18: Test the Bundle on the Storefront
Open the Bundle product page on your storefront and test the available combinations.
In this example, shoppers can independently select:
- Sample Nuts #12: 250g, 500g, or 1000g
- Sample Nuts #2: 250g, 500g, or 1000g
After a shopper changes a selection, the product page displays the data saved for the corresponding Shopify variant, including:
- Bundle product image
- Bundle price
- Bundle compare-at price
- Inventory status
- Selected product options
- Product images and variant information under Products included in the bundle
For example:
- When both nut products are set to 250g, the Bundle price is $152
- When both nut products are set to 500g, the Bundle price is $212
Changing a selection switches the Shopify-native variant. Therefore, the product page reads the price of the selected variant directly and usually does not require separate Shopify theme adaptation for price switching.
If you uploaded an image for every variant, the main product image should also change to the image assigned to the selected combination.
[Insert image here: Storefront showing the 250g + 250g combination and its $152 price]

[Insert image here: Storefront showing the 500g + 500g combination and its $212 price]

Step 19: Test Adding the Bundle to the Cart
After checking the product page, select a Bundle combination and click Add to cart.
Open the cart and confirm that:
- The correct Bundle product has been added
- The selected option values are correct
- The Bundle price is correct
- The quantity is correct
- The included products are displayed as expected

Step 20: Check the Bundle After Placing a Test Order
Place a test order and open it in Shopify admin.
Confirm that:
- The Bundle product appears in the order
- The selected Bundle variant is correct
- The Bundle price is correct
- The included products and quantities are recorded correctly
- Inventory is adjusted as expected
Completing a test order helps confirm that the Bundle works correctly throughout the entire purchasing process.

How Do Price and Inventory Synchronization Work?
This template involves two different data update mechanisms.
When Shoppers Change a Selection on the Storefront
When shoppers choose different product variants, they are switching between native Shopify variants.
The Shopify theme reads the data already saved for the selected variant, including:
- Price
- Compare-at price
- Inventory status
- Variant image
As a result, this template does not usually experience the price mismatch that can occur when a custom dropdown selection changes but the main product price does not refresh.
When a Bundled Product’s Price or Inventory Changes
If automatic price or inventory synchronization is enabled, uShopAid monitors changes to the products included in the Bundle.
When a bundled product’s price or inventory changes, the uShopAid synchronization service:
- Reads the bundled product’s latest price or inventory.
- Recalculates the result using the exact product variants and quantities included in each Bundle variant.
- Synchronizes the result to the corresponding Shopify Bundle variant.
The Bundle data is stored on native Shopify variants, but automatic updates after bundled product changes still depend on uShopAid.
If a bundled product has changed but the Bundle price or inventory does not update correctly after allowing time for synchronization, there may be an issue with the uShopAid synchronization service. Contact the uShopAid support team so we can investigate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Does the App Say There Are Too Many Product Options?
A Shopify-native product can have a maximum of three options.
If the combined Size, Color, Weight, or other options from the bundled products require more than three Bundle product options, uShopAid cannot create the current combination as a Shopify-native Bundle.
You can:
- Reduce the number of bundled products that have options
- Reduce the number of available variants
- Disable unnecessary quantity options
- Use another Product Bundle template
- Use a Mix Match Bundle
Why Do Two Products with Three Variants Each Create Only Two Options?
Each bundled product’s variant selection becomes one option on the final Bundle product.
For example:
- Sample Nuts #12: 250g, 500g, and 1000g
- Sample Nuts #2: 250g, 500g, and 1000g
This creates two options, not six.
Combining the values from those two options generates:
3 × 3 = 9 variants
Why Does the Number of Variants Increase So Quickly?
The total number of Bundle variants is the product of the number of values in each Bundle option.
For example:
- The first option has 3 values
- The second option has 3 values
- The third option has 4 values
The Bundle will generate:
3 × 3 × 4 = 36 variants
Therefore, even if the Bundle does not exceed the three-option limit, a large number of option values can cause it to approach or exceed the 2,048-variant limit.
Why Does the Price Change Automatically When Shoppers Select Another Variant?
Shoppers are switching between Shopify-native product variants.
Each combination has a corresponding Shopify Bundle variant with its own price. The storefront reads the selected variant’s price directly, so separate theme adaptation is not usually required for price switching.
Why Didn’t the Bundle Price Update After a Bundled Product’s Price Changed?
First, check whether Price is set to:
Sync automatically based on the prices of the bundled products
If it is set to:
Manually set, do not sync automatically
the Bundle price will not follow changes to the bundled product prices. You must update it manually.
If automatic synchronization is already enabled but the Bundle price still does not update correctly, the uShopAid synchronization service may not have processed the latest product data successfully.
Contact the uShopAid support team and provide:
- The Bundle product name
- The specific Bundle variant with the incorrect price
- The relevant bundled products and variants
- The current Bundle price
- The expected Bundle price
The uShopAid support team will check the price synchronization status.
Why Didn’t the Bundle Inventory Update After a Bundled Product’s Inventory Changed?
First, confirm that the following setting is enabled:
Sync bundle inventory automatically based on the inventory of bundled products
Also check:
- Whether the correct inventory location is selected
- Whether the bundled products have available inventory at that location
- Whether the required quantity of each bundled product is correct
- Whether the Bundle variant contains the correct bundled product variants
If these settings are correct but the Bundle inventory still does not update, there may be an issue with the uShopAid synchronization service.
Contact the uShopAid support team and provide:
- The Bundle product name
- The specific Bundle variant with the incorrect inventory
- The current inventory of the relevant bundled products
- The Bundle’s current inventory
- The expected Bundle inventory
The uShopAid support team will check the inventory synchronization status.
Why Is the Bundle’s Available Inventory Lower Than a Bundled Product’s Inventory?
Bundle inventory considers:
- The available inventory of every bundled product
- The quantity of each product required for one Bundle
- The inventory of the other products included in the Bundle
For example, if a bundled product has 100 units available but each Bundle requires two units, that product can support only 50 Bundles.
If another bundled product can support only 30 Bundles, the final Bundle inventory will be 30.
Why Doesn’t the Main Product Image Change After Selecting Another Variant?
Check the following:
- Confirm that an image has been uploaded for each Bundle variant in Shopify admin.
- Confirm that each image is assigned to the correct variant combination.
- Confirm that the current Shopify theme supports changing product media based on the selected native variant.
- Check whether the product page’s media code has been customized.
Most themes that support Shopify-native variant images will display the image assigned to the selected variant.
Can I Upload a Different Image for Each Variant in uShopAid?
You can configure the general Bundle images under Media & Description in uShopAid.
Images for individual Shopify Bundle variants must be uploaded separately to the corresponding variants in Shopify admin.
Can the Bundle Still Be Sold If I Disable the Bundle Widget?
Yes.
Disabling the Bundle Widget only hides the list of included products from the product page. It does not prevent the Bundle product from being sold.
If you disable it, use the Bundle product’s title, images, and description to explain clearly:
- Which products are included
- The quantity of each product
- Which variants shoppers can select
Summary
This Product Bundle template is suitable for creating a Shopify-native Bundle with fixed products and relatively simple product options.
With this template, you can:
- Combine multiple existing products into one Shopify-native Bundle product
- Allow shoppers to select from the available variants of bundled products
- Use Shopify-native product options and variants
- Display the correct variant price when shoppers change their selections
- Use uShopAid to synchronize bundled product prices with Bundle prices
- Use uShopAid to synchronize bundled product inventory with Bundle inventory
- Display the products included in the Bundle on the product page
- Upload a matching image for each Bundle variant in Shopify admin
The main advantage of this template is that it uses Shopify-native variants. When shoppers change a selection, the price, inventory status, and assigned image can be displayed using the selected native variant’s data.
Its main limitations are:
- A maximum of 100 bundled products
- A maximum of 3 product options
- A maximum of 2,048 product variants
Before creating the Bundle, check the Bundled products, Options, and Variants values in the Preview panel.
If the product structure exceeds Shopify’s native limits, reduce the number of options or variants, or use another uShopAid Product Bundle template or a Mix Match Bundle.
