How to Create Free Gift Offers in uShopAid
uShopAid offers several ways to create free gift promotions. You can give customers a fixed gift when they meet a condition, include a fixed gift with a selected Box, let customers choose from a gift list, or make one of the products already included in a Bundle free.
The setup location and storefront behavior depend on the Bundle type and the free gift experience you want to create. This guide covers free gift settings for Mix & Match Bundle, Product Bundle, Volume Discount, and Classic Bundle.
Which free gift method should you use?
What you want to achieve | Recommended setup |
|---|---|
Automatically give a specific gift when customers meet a quantity or amount condition | Mix & Match Bundle – Buy more save more: Discounts → Discount rules → Free gift |
Include a fixed gift with a Single-box or one or more selectable Boxes | Mix & Match Bundle – Single-box / Multi-box: Discounts → Box size & price → Offer free gift with this box |
Let customers choose from multiple gifts | Mix & Match Bundle: Choose free gift / Free gift list |
Give an additional fixed gift after a Product Bundle is purchased | Product Bundle: Rules → Free Gift |
Make one of the products included in a Product Bundle free | Product Bundle: Apply discount to specific products only → Free |
Give a gift when customers select a specific quantity tier | Volume Discount: add a Free Gift to the corresponding Bar |
Make one of the products included in a Classic Bundle free | Classic Bundle: Specific products only → Free |
For most Mix & Match Bundle templates, use Free gift behavior to choose whether to show a popup or add the gift automatically. In both cases, the gift will appear in the Bundle Summary.
The Fixed Design Set template under Single-box and the Selectable Design Set template under Multi-box also support displaying fixed gifts directly on the Bundle page through the Included products component.
An additional free gift is added in addition to the products included in the Bundle. A free product inside a Bundle is already part of the Bundle, but its price is set to zero.
1. Add a free gift to a Mix & Match Bundle
Mix & Match Bundle supports two different free gift experiences:
- Fixed free gifts — You select the gift in advance. Customers receive the specified gift after meeting the applicable requirement.
- Customer-selected free gifts — You provide a list of available gifts and let customers choose the gift they want.
Free gift experience | Who decides the gift? | Best for |
|---|---|---|
Fixed free gift | The merchant | Giving a specific gift when customers meet a condition or complete a Box |
Customer-selected free gift | The customer | Letting customers choose one or more gifts from a predefined list |
Method 1 — Offer a fixed free gift
A fixed free gift is selected by the merchant in advance. When customers meet the requirement, they receive the specified gift and cannot replace it with another product.
Mix & Match Bundle uses two different setup methods for fixed free gifts:
Bundle type | Free gift setup |
|---|---|
Buy more save more | Discounts → Discount rules → Free gift |
Single-box / Multi-box | Discounts → Box size & price → Offer free gift with this box |
Add a fixed free gift to a Buy more save more Bundle
Buy more save more uses Discount rules to trigger discounts and fixed free gifts based on the quantity of products added to the Bundle or the Bundle subtotal.
For example:
- Add 2 products → Receive 10% off and a free gift
- Add 4 products → Receive a specific free gift
- Spend $100 → Receive a specific free gift
Setup steps
- Open the Buy more save more Bundle you want to edit.
- Click Discounts in the left sidebar.
- Click Add discount rule, or edit an existing rule.
- Configure the qualifying condition, such as product quantity or Bundle subtotal.
- Enable Free gift.
- Click Add free gift.
- Select the gift product and set the gift quantity.
- Click Confirm.
- Save the Bundle.

When customers meet the condition configured in the Discount rule, they become eligible for the corresponding fixed free gift.
Add a fixed free gift to a Single-box or Multi-box Bundle
Single-box and Multi-box Bundles use the same Box settings.
The only difference is the number of Boxes offered:
- A Single-box Bundle provides one Box.
- A Multi-box Bundle provides multiple Boxes for customers to choose from.
Each Box can have its own:
- Size
- Price
- Compare-at price
- Free gift setting
- Gift products
- Gift quantities
Single-box example
A merchant offers one Box:
- Choose any 4 products
- Fixed price: $199
- Free gift: Sample Nail Lamp × 1
After customers complete the required selection for the Box, they receive the fixed gift assigned to that Box.
Multi-box example
A merchant offers multiple Boxes:
- 3 products for $59
- 4 products for $119
- 6 products for $139
Customers first choose a Box and then select the required number of products for that Box.
Each Box can include its own fixed gift. For example, when customers choose the “3 products for $59” Box and complete the required selection, they receive the gift assigned to that Box.
Setup steps
- Open the Single-box or Multi-box Bundle you want to edit.
- Click Discounts in the left sidebar.
- Expand Box size & price.
- Find the Box you want to configure.
- Enable Offer free gift with this box.
- Click Select free gift.
- Select the gift product and set the gift quantity.
- For a Multi-box Bundle, review and configure each Box separately.
- Save the Bundle.

Choose how fixed free gifts are added
After configuring a fixed free gift, use Free gift behavior to decide what happens when customers qualify for the gift.
Two options are available:
Show Popup
Select:
Show Popup – Let customers know they've received a free gift
When customers qualify for the gift, a popup appears to let them know that they have received a free gift.
After they confirm the popup, the gift is added to the Bundle Summary.
[Insert screenshot: Free gift popup]

Add Automatically
Select:
Add Automatically – Add the gift silently without a popup
When customers qualify for the gift, no popup appears. The gift is added directly to the Bundle Summary.
[Insert screenshot: Free gift added automatically to the Bundle Summary]

Free gift behavior | Popup shown? | What happens |
|---|---|---|
Show Popup | Yes | The gift is added to the Bundle Summary after the customer confirms the popup |
Add Automatically | No | The gift is added directly to the Bundle Summary |
Display fixed gifts directly in two special templates
Single-box and Multi-box each include one special Product page embed template that can display fixed gifts directly on the Bundle page through the Included products component.
Bundle type | Template | Free gift display |
|---|---|---|
Single-box | Fixed Design Set | Included products |
Multi-box | Selectable Design Set | Included products |
In these two templates, customers can see the fixed gifts included with the current Box directly on the Bundle page.
For example:
Free gifts included in your pack:
The gift image and product title appear in this section.
Display gifts with Included products
- Click Products & Layout in the left sidebar.
- Add or select the Included products component.
- Expand Products in the settings panel.
- Set Source type to Free gifts from discount.
- Customize the product label, label position, and component styling as needed.
- Save the Bundle.

Other Mix & Match Bundle templates use Free gift behavior to show a popup or add the gift automatically. In both cases, the gift will appear in the Bundle Summary.
Method 2: Use Choose free gift to let customers select a gift
Use the Choose free gift template when customers should choose their preferred gift from several options.
[Insert image: Choose free gift template]

The template already includes product-selection steps, a Free gift list, and a basic quantity condition.
Try the Choose Free Gift demo →
Use the preset template
- Find Choose free gift in the new Mix & Match Bundle template list.
- Click Select.
- Replace the regular products and gift products in the editor.
- Adjust the required product quantity and the number of gifts customers can select.
Add a Free gift list to another template
You can also add a gift list manually:
- Open Products & Layout.
- Open the page or area where the gifts should appear.
- Click Add element.
- Select Product → Free gift list.
- Choose a grid, carousel, or another available layout.
[Insert image: Add element → Free gift list]

Products in the gift list are displayed as Free, with the original price shown as a strikethrough when applicable.

Set the gift unlock condition
- Go to Quantity settings → Items from this list.
- Click Add condition.
- Choose the condition basis, the required number of Bundle products, and how many gifts customers can select.
- Click Save.
For example:
If the quantity in the Bundle is greater than or equal to 3, customers can select 1 free gift from this list.

Before the condition is met, the gift buttons are unavailable. After the customer meets the condition, they can click Add to select a gift. Once the gift limit is reached, no additional gifts can be added.

2. Add a free gift or free product to a Product Bundle
Product Bundle templates are currently located under Fixed Bundle on the Bundle creation page.
Start a Product Bundle
- Open uShopAid Bundle Builder and create a new Bundle.
- Select Fixed Bundle on the Choose Bundle Type page.
- Choose a suitable Product Bundle template and click Select.
[Insert image: Fixed Bundle template entry]

Product Bundle supports two different results: adding an extra gift after the Bundle is purchased, or making one of the products already included in the Bundle free.
Method 1: Add an additional fixed gift
The dropdown template and other supported Product Bundle templates can add a fixed gift under Rules.
- Create or edit a Product Bundle.
- Complete the product or dropdown configuration under Bundled Products.
- Scroll down and expand Rules.
- Under Free Gift, click Add free gift.
- Select the gift product or variant and set the quantity.
- Save the Product Bundle.
[Insert image: Product Bundle → Rules → Free Gift]

The editor explains:
On the cart or checkout page, customers will receive the following gifts.
The gift is therefore not displayed as another product dropdown on the Product Bundle page. It is provided on the cart or checkout page after the customer purchases the Bundle.
Method 2: Make a product inside the Product Bundle free
Some Product Bundle templates allow you to apply a free discount to a specific bundled product.

- Create or edit a Product Bundle and add its bundled products.
- Expand Rules.
- Under Bundle pricing → Price, select Sync automatically based on the prices of the bundled products.
- Select Apply discount to specific products only.
- Click View selected and select the product that should be free.
- Set the discount method to Free.
- Enter a label such as
Freeunder Badge text. - Save the Product Bundle.
[Insert image: Apply discount to specific products only → Free]

The product remains part of the Product Bundle, but its price becomes zero and a Free badge can be displayed on the storefront.
Compare the two Product Bundle methods
Rules → Free Gift | Set a bundled product to Free | |
|---|---|---|
Is the product originally part of the Bundle? | No; it is an additional gift | Yes |
Displayed among bundled products? | Usually no | Yes |
Included in product or variant selection? | No | Yes |
Setup location | Rules → Free Gift | Bundle pricing → Specific products only → Free |
Result | Additional gift on cart or checkout | A bundled product has a zero price |
3. Add a free gift to a Volume Discount tier
In Volume Discount, a free gift belongs to a specific Bar, or offer tier. Customers receive the gift only when they select that Bar.
Start a Volume Discount
- Open uShopAid Bundle Builder and create a new Bundle.
- Select Volume Discount on the Choose Bundle Type page.
- Choose a template and click Select.
[Insert image: Volume Discount template list]

Add the gift
- Find Bars in the editor.
- Expand the tier that should include a gift, such as Bar #3 – 3 Pack.
- Click Add free gift.
- Select the gift product or variant.
- Set the gift quantity.
- Edit the gift message if needed.
- Choose whether to display the gift image. Click Edit image to replace it if needed.
- Save the promotion.
[Insert image: Volume Discount Bar → Add free gift]

After setup, + Free Gift appears at the bottom of that tier.
For example:
- 1 Pack: no gift;
- 2 Pack: 15% off, no gift;
- 3 Pack: 30% off plus one free gift.
||
Other Bars do not inherit it automatically. If several tiers should include a gift, add the appropriate gift separately to each Bar.4. Make a product inside a Classic Bundle free
Classic Bundle lets you make a product already included in the Bundle free. This is different from adding an extra gift on the cart or checkout page.
Start a Classic Bundle
- Open uShopAid Bundle Builder and create a new Bundle.
- Select Classic Bundle on the Choose Bundle Type page.
- Click Select on the template.
[Insert image: Classic Bundle template entry]

Add the bundled products
- Click Select products under Products.
- Add the products you want to sell together.
- Set the quantity for each product.
- Select available variants as needed.
- Make sure the product you want to offer for free is included in the Classic Bundle.

- Open Discounts.
- Under Discount Applies On, select Specific products only.
- Click View selected.
- Select the product that should be free.
- Set the discount method to Free.
- Publish or save the Classic Bundle.
[Insert image: Classic Bundle → Specific products only → Free]

After setup:
- The product remains part of the Classic Bundle.
- Its current price is zero.
- Its original price can be displayed with a strikethrough.
- The Bundle total includes only the paid products.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use Auto Gift or Choose free gift?
Use Auto Gift when the merchant decides which product customers receive. Use Choose free gift when customers should choose from several available gifts.
Why did a customer who reached a higher tier not receive the previous rule's gift?
Mix & Match Bundle discount rules are not cumulative. Only the benefits configured inside the currently matched rule apply. Add every required discount, gift, or free-shipping benefit to each rule separately.
Why is my Product Bundle Free Gift not visible on the product page?
A gift added through Rules → Free Gift is an additional gift. According to the editor, it is provided on the cart or checkout page rather than displayed as a product dropdown.
Why is the Add button unavailable in the Free gift list?
The customer may not have met the unlock condition, or they may already have reached the gift limit. Check Quantity settings → Items from this list.
Does a Volume Discount gift apply to every tier?
No. The gift applies only to the Bar where it was added. Configure it separately for every tier that should include a gift.
Does Classic Bundle add an extra gift to the cart?
The Classic Bundle setup described in this guide makes one of the bundled products free. It does not add a separate cart gift.
Summary
Before creating your promotion, decide whether you want to add an additional gift or make one of the products already included in the Bundle free:
- Mix & Match Bundle: use Discount rules to give a specific gift, or Free gift list to let customers choose.
- Product Bundle: use Rules → Free Gift for an additional gift, or set a specific bundled product to Free.
- Volume Discount: add a free gift to the corresponding Bar.
- Classic Bundle: set a specific bundled product to Free.
Choosing the correct method creates a clearer storefront experience and helps customers understand exactly what is included in their Bundle.
